So we did our last South African gig a few days ago at Roxy’s in Jozi and it saddens me to say that it wasn’t the greatest farewell. We ended up going on at about 12:30am when we were scheduled to play at 9:30pm. So let’s just say things were running late. The Hellphones (besides for Joe we love you man) behaved very unprofessionally and as the lead singer walked through the door all I could hear or see him do was bitch about the show running late. Apparently they had a bike ride in the morning or something so they pretty much walked in with their equipment then walked out and didn’t even jam the show, o well so much for the timeless cliché “the show must go on”.

so its 2008 already, we have a few things lined up for this year, starting with a trip to JHB in late Feb, early March, check out the gig guide for that info. We have also started getting material together for our new Album Due for release some time this century! anyway the gig situation in  Durban is very mellow, we are just writing  material and jamming, but are looking to book something rad for Durban in the next  month or so. SIBLING RIVALRY - CAPE TOWN NOV/DEC 2007 - PRESS RELEASE

After a very young start, 9 years later, with countless trips around the country, a couple of EPs and two studio full length albums, it would seem Durban experimental ska/punk rockers Sibling Rivalry are still gaining momentum. This year alone they have managed to achieve more then most underground bands, sticking to their independence, they have performed at some high profile shows and contributed a huge amount to building a local scene. Sibling Rivalry will be back in CT for another stint of shows following their successful Months tour of the mother city earlier this year. Don't miss this band tearing up the stage this November/December:

Wednesday the 28th of November: ROAR with Captain Stu, Lower Main Rd Obs, 9pm R20 entry.

Thursday the 29th of November: Cool Runnings, Long Street, with Nungarin, 9pm R20 entry.

Friday the 30th of November: Wynberg Sports Club, with The All Star Funk Four, Hog Hoggidy Hog and The Rudimentals (Break up day fiasco) R40.

Friday the 30th of November: Corner Bar, Durbanville, with 7 th Son and Captain Stu, R30 entry.

Saturday the 1st of December: gig still to be confirmed.

Monday the 3rd of December: Mercury Live Student night Vibes, R15.

Please contact us should you need any high resolution images and/or would like to inquire about setting up interviews with the band. Contact or call Steve on 084 5811204

So things have been good this year for the Siblings, it started off with an 11 show stint in Cape Town, then we went on to play loads of club/bar and festival dates in Durban and around SA we've jammed at venues like The Winston, Kwasuka Theatre, Willovale, Stones, Uprising Festival, Cuervo J-Bay Festival, Horror Cafe in Jozi and we supported Fat Wreck Chords ska/punk experts Mad Caddies. For october we are taking it easy, and then picking things up from November with a Grahamstown trip aswell as another few Cape Town shows, so look out for details.

Well, so we home after a month in Cape Town! And it was sick. We played 11 shows all together and they all went down pretty rad. We got a rad response from all the people who came out to see us, and we would like to thank those people who rocked out with us and those who bought our Album.

We will be featured in the next issue on Blunt with our new EP Durban Stone City, and then in the next issue we are getting a double page tour report, so look out for that.

Check out the photo gallery for shots from the tour!!
