Go Go bars, Ping pong balls, good times
Sunday, 28 September 2008

Last night we visited the infamous Patpong (Ping Pong) area in Bangkok which is flooded with restaurants, street vendors, MacDonald’s, Strip clubs and live music venues. It would seem that around every second corner in Bangkok there is a live venue with an in house rig and some sort of live act doing their thing. So when in Rome (you know how the rest goes) we visited a few strip clubs and after a couple beers it got increasingly hard to distinguish the ladies from the Seun meisies. We went into a club called Queen something or other and saw a girl shoot balloons with darts from her vaginal area. She then opened a soda bottle with her you know what and wrote badgers name on a piece of paper with her you know what. Before using her “down stairs mix up” as a projectile for Ping Pong balls.

Everywhere you go in Patpong there’s some arb seedy guy who comes up to you and says something along the lines of “Banana Pussy show, Ping Pong Pussy show, Dart pussy show, very nice very nice no cover charge”.

Earlier on we had a drink at a tiny little pub called Noriaga’s, and they offered us a gig there next Friday, we are playing before the local in house band. The owner seems like a pretty cool guy. It’s about half the size of our favorite haunt in Durban The Winston Pub. It probably can’t fit more then 60 people, but we will see what happens on Friday. There was a pretty sweet Beatles cover band jamming there as we arrived.

The night ended up at some crazy night club with super low ceilings, with about 4 floors with a different DJ on each floor. One of the DJ’s was playing with a live percussionist which was pretty innovative for lame dance tunes. I got pretty over it after a while and went outside to try and befriend some cute feral Kittens on the streets. I ended up at some hip hop club across the street before retiring. I think we are off to an island for a bit of exploration before our first show this Friday, we also found a rehearsal space, so things seem to be going pretty well. Later everyone
