The band has been on a break for a little while now, due to the fact that the members are separated by a few thousand kilometers of ocean. Toward the middle of 2010, the whole band should be back in SA and making plans. I've had to close down the comments section on our page, hopefully only temporarily, due to some technical issues with the component, so sorry no comments for now. If anyone know of a good comment component for Mambo please let me know. Contact us if you would like any other information on the Siblings. Thanks |

Good day ladies and gents, it's been a while since our last proper blog entry. I've been feeling uninspired and lazy and I've been missing my beloved home back in South Africa so damn much that I just haven't had the ambition to write most days. Ok just to fill you in Thailand is in a pretty politically wrecked state at the moment. Both the airports were closed for over a week, were protesters demanded the prime minister be ousted. This pretty much helped Thailand to lose billions in revenue. I was sitting at home the other day and I heard a bomb go off, all the electricity cut and went straight back on. |

“Handing out flyers is like selling crack in Camden” Welcome to Khaosan Road In Bangkok foreigners are everywhere, it’s almost as if a whole bunch of countries from around the world decided to curb their overpopulation problems and drop a crate full of people in the middle of Thailand. But that’s just a crazy notion. Yet it just seems that people come here to lose themselves, work or just experience something new for a while. |

So Halloween has come and gone, happy Halloween everyone. In Thailand Halloween seems to be taken quite seriously. Leading up to the day, all you could see or hear around Bangkok was parties being advertised and decorations or costumes being sold.
There was even a pre Halloween party going down on Thursday and a little bird told us there was going to be free drinks there. So apparently the dress code was Vampire, so we got a couple pairs of fake teeth, and some make up and went to the party all dressed up and ready to kill, kill those free drinks. So when we arrived it was all downhill from there. The bar was serving free Vodka until 11, so we made sure we got as many down as possible before then, because being poor South Africans that’s just how we roll. |

So since our last blog, a lot has happened yet in between that not much has happened. It’s kind of hard to explain. We did three shows in the last few days, and everyone was interesting in their own way, some were better than others but we had a good time at all of them regardless. On Thursday we played at the MBK Tattoo Contest, and the first thing I realised when I got there is Tattoo’s are huge in Thailand. I walked off the sky train into the outside of MBK Shopping Centre, to be confronted by a massive entourage of piercings, ink, body modifications, needle guns, punks, metal heads and tourists all inked to the bone. Walking around with my clean, pirecless and inkless skin I couldn’t help but feel like a bit of an outsider. There must have been over 1000 people there. As you walked through the crowd all you noticed or heard was the sound of needle guns, all you saw were people selling Tattoo equipment or getting inked. There were creepy looking guys with horns coming out of their foreheads and stretched earlobes that could have had tennis balls in them and pretty Asian girls inked to the max wearing nurse uniforms and handing out flyers. |
